So you've just obtained a new puppy and, as with all caring owners, you wish to provide it with the best nutrition, the best veterinary care and the best opportunities in life. And so you should! Just like kids, puppies need to be taught rules of etiquette. They need gentle yet practical guidance in order to be shown how to behave with members of the family and friends, around the house, with other dogs and of course outside their homes. It is much easier to teach your puppy when they are young and impressionable and the more experiences you have the less developmental problems will occur later in life.
Puppy Preschool classes provide your puppy with this all-important socialisation to integrate your pup into society in a safe and responsible manner and utilises motivational based training to teach your pup. Course content covers everything from understanding puppy behavior, health care, basic obedience to learning how to avoid typical puppy problems you may be experiencing around the home such as biting, chewing, jumping, nuisance barking and toilet training.
Puppy Preschool Classes consist of five one hour sessions. You will be in a class with 4-6 other puppies and their owners. Classes will be held from 6.30pm on Tuesday evenings at the
ö Puppies from 6wks of age. Must have had 1st C3 vaccination.
ö Course of five sessions on weeknights. ö Four to six puppies per class. ö Run in YVH waiting room. Utilizing outside paddock in daylight hours.
ö Covers basic training, health care, toilet training and behavior issues.
ö We also run puppy playgroup for dog breeders for puppies from 4weeks of age.
Cost for the 5 week course is $125
(discounts available for multiple puppies and families repeating the course)

For those attending classes: The first class is just for owners (puppies and small children stay home if possible as we discuss health and training for 2hours). The rest of the classes all the family are very welcome. Please bring treats and a mat for your puppy to sit on.
