So you've just obtained a new puppy and, as with all caring owners, you wish to provide it with the best nutrition, the best veterinary care and the best opportunities in life. And so you should! Just like kids, puppies need to be taught rules of etiquette. They need gentle yet practical guidance in order to be shown how to behave with members of the family and friends, around the house, with other dogs and of course outside their homes. It is much easier to teach your puppy when they are young and impressionable and the more experiences you have the less developmental problems will occur later in life.

Training and socialisation during a puppy's first 16 weeks of life is crucial to ensure your pup grows up to be a confident, well behaved and of course, safe member of society. Socialisation means exposing puppies to as many and varied experiences as possible in a positive manner. For example, meeting and playing with other dogs in a safe and controlled environment, everyday sounds and activities.

Puppy Preschool classes provide your puppy with this all-important socialisation to integrate your pup into society in a safe and responsible manner and utilises motivational based training to teach your pup. Course content covers everything from understanding puppy behavior, health care, basic obedience to learning how to avoid typical puppy problems you may be experiencing around the home such as biting, chewing, jumping, nuisance barking and toilet training.

Puppy Preschool Classes consist of five one hour sessions.  You will be in a class with 4-6 other puppies and their owners. Classes will be held from 6.30pm on Tuesday evenings at the Yass Vet Hospital.
